I dismantled the figure and set to work re-posing it. I sculpted the mouth open and added flowing hair. I added more detail to the cloth of the dress and blended it into a back plate that I sculpted with ripples. I heat-treated the tentacles to form them into dynamic shapes. The whole sculpt was fitted into a resin frame.

The piece was painted using a combination of metallic lacquers and muted acrylic tones. The idea was to give the impression both of a haunted mirror and of looking up from the deep past the drowning figure at the silvery surface of the water.
