De Loys Ape Enigmini

In 1920, geologist Louis de Loys and his team described encountering two upright-walking, human-sized apes in a remote part of Venezuela. The group reacted in the only way possible upon meeting a potentially new species of hominid and immediately shot one of them dead. Sadly, it proved impossible to preserve any part of the mystery creature and the sole remaining record is a picture of the rather pitiful propped-up, posthumous primate.

This De Loys Ape art figure is 40mm tall and presented as one of a series of blind-packed resin art pieces. Each Enigmini design is traditionally sculpted in clay, hand cast in resin and individually finished and inked in one of several colourways. They are supplied blind-boxed at random in bespoke recycled card packaging and closed with a wax seal.
